UM-Flint Social Media Update | July 2011

What’s New

We’re always on the lookout for new (and free) resources that will help us analyze our social media activity. As we play with new tools and applications, we’ll share with you those we find the most promising.

TwitSprout is a new Twitter analytics tool. It offers a one-page dashboard of activity for any Twitter account, including growth rate and follower trends. The TwitSprout dashboard doesn’t currently include data that we haven’t seen before, but the presentation is nice. If you’re looking for a general overview of your account activity, it does a good job. Plus, the dashboard is pretty enough to share with your supervisor or distribute at a meeting.

After requesting a beta account TwitSprout, it takes a little bit of time for your first dashboard to generate. Afterward, your dashboard is available at any time using the same URL. Below is a snapshot of @umflint’s TwitsSprout dashboard for August 1. You can sign up for your own TwitSprout dashboard at TwitSprout.com.
