Governance Policies & Documents for UM-Flint (including applicable U of M)

There are many governance policies that apply to our UM-Flint campus. The higher the unit, the greater the authority of its policies. If conflicts exist, the lower unit policies are voided by those of the higher unit.

Document is revised, approved, and maintained by U of M-Flint faculty. It may not conflict with the U of M Regents Bylaws.

Document authored by AAAC; endorsed by AAUP UM-Flint and partially endorsed by Faculty Council.

12) University-Wide Standing Committees:

Agendas and minutes for standing committees are required to be available to faculty. Faculty Council is required to disseminate agendas in advance of meetings to all faculty. For standing committee documents login to Blackboard and look under ‘organizations.’ Additionally, minutes of governing faculty meetings are available through Faculty Council on Blackboard.

*Note: Something can only be called a governance document if it was approved by vote of the committee, board, or faculty group in charge of the unit’s governance. It is important to know the history of a document to know whether it has governance authority.
