Welcome Back to Winter 2012!
So far the Winter 2012 semester is off to a great start and you can be sure to make it a productive and satisfying one by conquering several small tasks that will benefit you for years to come.
First make a plan of what you hope to accomplish by the end of this semester, by the end of this year and by the time you graduate. Even though plans may change, having them mapped out in advance is a easy way to keep a clear idea of the task at hand and the tasks to come. If you have any questions about anything concerning your academic or career plans feel free to visit the Academic Advising and Career Center to plan things out with your advisor.
Second, be sure to write out a stunning resume. With online resume submission becoming the norm, your resume is likely the first impression an employer will have of you so make it a good one! Help with constructing a resume or even having a resume critiqued can be found on Career Connection, a free web-service tool. Also, consider attending one of the many resume workshops located here, on-campus. A list of dates for these workshops can also be found on Career Connection or by contacting the AACC.
Lastly, be sure to find time for some relaxation! Trying to cram in school, work and life can be a lot and you can’t be your best if you don’t feel your best. Be sure to make time for for some fun and enjoy your Winter semester!
