Welcome back to the Graduate Student Spotlight! This week, we’re looking at a student of Physical Therapy, Emma DeBaeke! Emma is extremely excited to be working with our excellent faculty, and loves to get practical experience in the field. She’s an active participant in her program, making certain to ask questions, get experience, and learn about how best to improve patient’s lives! Emma is a strong advocate for self-care as a graduate student, knowing how stressful graduate programs can become, and encourages her fellow students to take care of themselves. Thank you for participating, Emma! We look forward to seeing you accomplish all your goals!
What’s Your Favorite Part of Your Graduate Program?
The hands on experience and the knowledgeable professors. In my education I have never had professors that cared about their students like the ones in the U of M Flint Physical Therapy department. They truly care about our success and creating excellent clinicians.
What’s Your Favorite Part of Campus?
The William White Building! The simulation labs and the classrooms are amazing and create a great learning environment.
Any Advice for Other Students?
Make sure to dedicate some time for yourself. Self care is very important for your mental health especially in a Graduate program.
