Graduate Programs

Blogs from students, faculty & staff

In today’s Graduate Student Spotlight, we’re highlighting Master of Business Administration student, Isaiah McLaughlin! Isaiah is a hard-working student, maintaining a full-time job at the same time as pursuing his MBA. He is interested in finance and business, and is constantly curious about the world around him. He enjoys picking the brains of his cohorts and professors, and is always ready and willing to learn! Isaiah enjoys traveling between the different UM campuses as well, enjoying the quiet atmosphere of the UM-Flint campus when coming in-person, as well as the chaos of our Ann Arbor campus on game days. We’re happy to have such friendly, active, and constantly curious students engaging with their cohort here at UM-Flint! We asked Isaiah the usual questions, and here’s what he had to say:

What’s Your Favorite Part of Your Graduate Program?

I enjoy the flexibility that the online graduate program brings while still maintaining communication with professors and classmates. Since I work full-time while completing my MBA, this allows me to complete my studies when my schedule allows, which is beneficial to my education.

Any Advice for Other Graduate Students?

My advice to other students is to remain curious and push yourself to try new things, as it’s the best way to learn more about your courses and yourself. Don’t be afraid to reach out to other classmates or professors with questions or thoughts, and use all of the resources that the University of Michigan provides.
