Dr. Gergana Kodjebacheva has received a grant from the Weiser Center for Europe and Eurasia.  The Weiser Center is part of the International Institute at the University of Michigan, where Kodjebacheva serves as a faculty associate.  The grant will fund her research project to understand why minority children in Bulgaria do or do not wear eyeglasses. Kodjebacheva will conduct focus groups with eye care providers and minority parents.  Much of Kodjebacheva’s research has focused on children’s health, an interest she developed in graduate school. “I am very interested in the health of children in Eastern Europe and very grateful to the Weiser Center for allowing me to continue this research,” Kodjebacheva stated.
