Presented by The Carolyn Mawby Chorale and with the generous support of William Piper, UM-Flint hosted the 23rd annual Flint Festival of Choirs on February 21st and 22nd, 2026.

Featuring individual and group performances by:

  • Midland Camerata, conducted by Dr. Leticia Grutzmann
  • University of Michigan-Flint Chorale and Chamber Singers, conducted by Dr. Gabriela Hristova
  • Carolyn Mawby Chorale, conducted by Dr. Matthew Thompson

Nearly 100 singers from these groups rehearsed all day Saturday and in the morning on Sunday, developing their combined performances and fine-tuning their individual group repertoire. Their work was then showcased in a performance for the local community on Sunday afternoon.

Watch this short video to learn more about the festival’s origin and impact on both UM-Flint’s students and the Flint community.

We look forward to enjoying this marquee event with you next year.
