Spider webs stroke me
in the expanding darkness
of morning dog walks.

September has ended and taken the last vestiges of summer with it. Now it’s time for warm apple cider, doughnuts, and hay rides. Perhaps you are in the mood to visit a haunted house. However you prefer to enjoy the cooling weather, the Marian E Writing Writing Center is right there with you. Our tutors would love to read your midterm essays, your poetry about how beautiful the trees are as the leaves change color, or anything else that your original words feature in.
To encourage you, we’re sponsoring the Spooktacular Writing Contest. Anyone currently affiliated with UM-Flint is eligible to enter for a chance for their words to appear right here on this blog, in the Fall issue of Qua Literary and Fine Arts Magazine, and Scrap Paper: A Creative Writing Newsletter. There are also a few mystery prizes on tap this year!
