This Friday, May 12, 2023 University of Michigan-Flint will host a return to an in-person student research symposium known as the Student Research Conference. Students from UM-Flint, Mott Community College, and Kettering University will showcase the research projects they’re working on at the Riverfront Conference Center. James Alsup, professor of physics at UM-Flint guides undergraduate students in a research project to gain understanding of how quantum computing models can help further our understanding of the shape of molecules. These students are gaining hands-on experience with state-of-the-art computational and collaborative tools.
