Congratulations to Kazuko Hiramatsu, Associate Professor of English, who recently received a grant from the University of Michigan Office of the Vice President for Research to host the 40th Annual Meeting of the Michigan Linguistic Society here at UM-Flint.
The Michigan Linguistics Society meeting is an annual peer-reviewed conference that brings together students and faculty from throughout the state of Michigan and from around the world to facilitate the exchange of current research. The event will present papers of original research in all areas of linguistics and for a special session on sign language linguistics. The host site rotates among several Michigan universities.
This year the event will be held on our campus on Saturday, October 23rd, 2010 in the University Center. The keynote speaker will be Diane Lillo-Martin from the University of Connecticut. For more information, check out the Michigan Linguistic Society blog at /mls2010/
