When you reach the end of your college career and you are thrown out into the real world so-to-speak, where do you even start?<\/p>\n<p>I have found that one of the most difficult obstacles to tackle after college is how to prepare an impressive resume, something that would help me land the perfect job in my field of study. It\u2019s important to take a couple pointers that you can easily remember while crafting your resume. This <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailywritingtips.com\/resume-writing-tips\/\">website<\/a> has some\u00a0excellent tips for how to write a great resume. Here are just a couple tips that have helped me immensely with my own resume:<\/p>\n<p>1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Less is more \u2013 you don\u2019t want to make your future employer think you are going to be too detailed or too long-winded. Only offer information that will be helpful to attaining the position you would prefer.<\/p>\n<p>2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Spell Check \u2013 make sure all words are spelled correctly. It is always a good idea to get a second or third opinion on your resume because this is such an important piece of information about you. We here at the M.E.W. Writing Center would love to help you in molding your resume.<\/p>\n<p>3)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Editing \u2013 remember your life experiences will change so don\u2019t forget to update your resume at least once every 6 months. You never know when you may change an e-mail address, a phone number, or maybe even your home address.<\/p>\n<p>4)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Have fun \u2013 remember to add little details to your resume that will help you stand out among all the others. In today\u2019s day and age, it is becoming more and more difficult to find a job so it\u2019s important to add little details such as volunteer work you\u2019ve done, clubs you were a part of, or maybe even making the Dean\u2019s List.<\/p>\n<p>When you use these tips and others, you will have a successful start to your professional career. It is sometimes difficult to make the transition from college to career and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.umflint.edu\/writingcenter\/\">Writing Center <\/a>wants to make sure you are highly successful in all you do.
