Leaving Florence

Leaving Florence today was bittersweet, although we will miss the holiday of St. John which includes music on every square in the city and an hour long show of fireworks at night (according to our taxi driver) we are on a train heading to REGGIO EMILIA! This is what we have been waiting for. Watching Mary Lynn’s face light up each time she talks about us heading to this city is priceless and I can’t wait to experience it with her along with everyone else we are traveling with.

Before we packed our suitcases, which are now overflowing into more bags than we came here with we enjoyed a breakfast of cheese, bread, meats and fruit on the rooftop patio. As more of our group joined us we discussed what our plans were for the three hours we had left in Florence, some went to churches near by, others visited statues and a few had last minute purchases to buy.

39 of us are here from Michigan Inspirations- A Reggio inspired learning community and as we all boarded the train in our different cars you could hear “see you in Reggio!” A dream that has came true for us all!
