I have wanted to be teacher since 8th grade and I finally graduated  with my bachelors in December 2012. I am a certified elementary teacher with a special endorsement in early childhood. I currently teach GSRP preschool at the University of Michigan-Flint. I have been working with the Reggio philosophy for three years and have fallen in love with it. I am very excited to be headed to Italy to be immersed in the culture.

This is a wonderful opportunity to further my understanding and views of the philosophy and what early childhood education is. I want to learn about social customs and respect. I’m looking forward to visiting schools and seeing how they manage their time since they tend to live at a slower pace. I also want to learn how they incorporate different education subjects.
