The Education Department’s Early Childhood Studies Minor is one of those programs that is valuable no matter what degree you’re seeking. It provides important knowledge, experience, and helps students to better understand young children. The minor takes only seven courses to complete and covers courses like Child Development and Learning as well as Play and Learning in Early Childhood Education. The Minor in Early Childhood Studies provides a basic introduction to early childhood studies and working with young children and families of young children. The minor is designed both for students with majors outside Elementary Education and those with an Elementary Education major who are not pursuing the Early Childhood Specialist Endorsement (ZS), yet have an interest in early childhood education.
So no matter what your interests are, the minor is a great way to become better rounded and prepare you for a future working with young children and their families.
