This summer the ITS department will be upgrading the MSB computer labs with new computers. The PaperCut computers will also be upgraded with some of the used equipment from last summer’s library upgrade. The computers that are being replaced in the MSB labs will be repurposed by the University Tech Fee Committee.
We will also be moving ahead with implementing Windows 7 on all ITS lab computers campus wide. With the help of Windows 7, which runs more efficiently than Windows Vista, we should be saving the campus money in the long run on computers for the labs. Students can expect to see an increase in performance on computers in all buildings campus wide. If any student, faculty, or staff member has any questions on using Windows 7 in the ITS labs please do not hesitate to see one of the Helpdesk Associates available in all open labs, they would be happy to assist with these questions.
