Desktop Computer Services (DCS) performs the installation and maintenance of all desktop computers and printers on campus, including software and connections from the workstations to the communication closets; and provides consultation and assistance on all computer-related purchases for the campus. 

This month DCS has been working on a few projects getting campus ready for full support of Windows 7.  DCS has been working with the HelpDesk to support Windows 7 on campus for our Faculty and Staff.  Together they have created documentation (Quicknotes) on common Windows 7 questions and they will be continuing to add more Quicknotes and information as things arise.

DCS has also been working with Security Services on encrypting all new laptops purchased by the university departments.  Doing this will help to better secure private data on university machines, creating a safer campus community.
