Welcome to DEI Insights!
Welcome to the University of Michigan-Flint Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee blog, DEI Insights.
Through this blog, we’ll share updates, perspectives, interviews, and more to keep the UM-Flint community involved in the process of making campus more diverse, equitable, and inclusive. This work involves identifying and removing structural barriers connected to racism, homophobia, misogyny, or other forms of oppression, and looking to new and innovative ways to ensure that every member of our community has a chance to succeed.
The DEI Committee members are actively seeking input from you, the members of this community. Improving equity at UM-Flint takes everyone. Your input, perspectives, ideas, and stories are invaluable to the DEI work.
The COVID-19 pandemic and the necessary closures make getting this input a challenge. The DEI Committee members continue to do the work remotely, and committee members and co-chairs would love to hear from the campus community for comments and suggestions via email. Another option to submit feedback to the committee is through this form.
The DEI website has information about the committee co-chairs and members, resources informing the work, and meeting minutes. As the work continues, you’ll find a copy of the draft action plan, which will include an open comment period.
We hope you find this blog useful and informative as UM-Flint moves forward with this important and essential work.
