Today’s lab activities centered around forensic science and were held in a biochemistry lab. The ladies were able to view one of the student volunteer’s breast cancer cells that she uses to do her research before they learned how to use a microscope to tell the difference between dog, cat, and human hair. Then they learned how blood types differ and how the different blood types are determined in the lab. And, before they left, they isolated visible samples of their own DNA from their saliva.
