They cited close relationships with faculty, hands-on experiences in labs and in conducting research, and the rigorous academic standards of UM-Flint as being beneficial.<\/p>\n<p>Williams noted that she had almost not applied to the University of Michigan program, as she was intimidated by it being a top school in the country.
