Daylight Savings Time and Outlook Calendar entries February 26, 2007

Posted by admin in : Expert Advice from the ITS HelpDesk, General News , add a comment

You may have noticed Friday that several changes occurred to your Outlook calendar. This was due to a Microsoft patch installed early Friday morning to address the change in daylight savings time. Please take the time to examine your appointments for the dates of March 11th through March 31st; some entries may still be an hour off. If while looking over your personal calendar you identify incorrect appointment times, please adjust the entries as necessary. Note: If the faulty appointment involves more than one invitee, the meeting organizer will have to make the adjustments.

Important - please do not correct public folder calendars at this time, we have not applied the patch to this area yet.

We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused over the past couple of weeks. If you have any questions, feel free to contact the ITS Helpdesk @ 766-6804.

The ITS HelpDesk recommends the following for personally-owned computers:  If you have configured your Windows OS computer to automatically accept Microsoft updates, you should be up-to-date. Otherwise, please visit Microsoft’s Daylight Saving Time Help and Support Center.  For Mac OS computers, please consult http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305056.
